Klara Permenter – Biography

Head Tennis Professional at Magnolia Point CC

In summary, I am a passionate tennis enthusiast and coach. I am 46 years old and joyfully married with two wonderful children. My husband was born and raised in Jacksonville and we have just recently moved from Hungary to St. Augustine. I was born and raised in the small town of Baja in southern Hungary and it is there that I I fell in love with tennis. I was 10 years old  in 1979 when the town of Baja started to build its first and only tennis club. I was in the first group of kids who started learning tennis and soon thereafter began competive play. More recently, I served as a member of the Management Board of the club for six years and as president of the Overseeing Board for two years. Three years ago our family moved to Romania where I then taught children’s tennis at my kids’ school.

My education in economics and business. My husband and I built and managed an international business for 11 years. During the course of my life and studies I lived in Hungary, Ireland, England, Italy, Turkey, Romania and am now proudly living in the United States, it’s oldest city. I played competitive tennis in many of these countries having reached second in the national rankings in Romania, women’s 40+. As our kid’s have matured into young adults, I found myself longing to embark on a new career adventure and there was no doubt that it would be within the tennis community. I take to heart the words from Steve Jobs, „Do what you love and you will never have to work another day in your life”.  I soon thereafter earned my coaching certifications in both Europe and the USA (USPTA). My further education and higher certifications are ongoing.

Upon moving to Florida, as soon as my immigration status allowed, I began working as an assistant pro  at the prestigious Deerwood Country Club. I then began running group and private lessons, clinics and friendly tournaments and mixers at Heritage Landing and The King & Bear at World Golf Village, where we coincidentally live.

It is my vision and commitment at Magnolia Point to continue to build on its tradition of passionate tennis, both recreational and competitive. For many of us, tennis is more than a recreation, it is a lifestyle. I will use tennis to help instill in our children the values of sportsmanship, learning, ambition and leadership. We will be providing summer camps for the cildren as well as a variety of socials, mixers and tournament play. I appreciate that this club belongs to you, its members, and I am here to serve you in the manner you wish. As such, your input, especially in these early weeks, is invaluable for me in shaping the future vision of our great club. So, I ask for your involvement and support and look forward to great and fun times ahead….

Sincerely,

Koach Klara
